Dearly beloved, by the grace of God we have successfully ended the first phase of the
“Possessing The Nations Agenda”, and gloriously entered into the second phase (Vision
2028), thus “Unleashing the Whole Church to Transform their World with the Values and
Principles of the Kingdom of God.”
Indeed, we have a lot to thank God for the past 5 years which principally was an equipping period. This new phase of the Possessing the Nations agenda will leverage the achievements of the past 5 years to unleash the entire members to transform their world with the values, principles, and lifestyles of the Kingdom of God.
The slogan for Vision 2028 is:
· Possessing The Nations: I am an agent of transformation!
· Possessing the Nations: Transforming my world!
To begin with, the theme for 2024 is “A People of God Unleashed to Transform Their World” – 1 Peter 2:9 & Acts 1:8. The focus of this year's theme is to challenge the Church to not remain passive and indifferent to the ills of society (either through ignorance or negligence) but to arise, and shine its light in this dark world. Failure to unleash the whole church will be sine-qua-non to a description by Leonard Ravenhill that “hell is no more angry with the Church.” The Church is the only hope of this perverse world. Let us therefore arise and be counted as making the necessary impact to transform our societies.
In the words of the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye; in seeking to unleash the Church, our members should be taught to:
Let us be part of the unleashed group determined to bring transformation within their circles of influence. This shall not be by might or power but by the Spirit of God.
Wishing everyone a prosperous New Year full of spiritual energy to be strategically unleashed to transform society. Shalom.
THE RATIONALE behind the establishment of the Pentecost International Worship Centres (PIWCs) was to provide a well-organised, cross-cultural church, primarily for people of non-Ghanaian cultural background (expatriates), who want a place to worship God. Secondly, our Ghanaian brothers and sisters who prefer to worship in the English language or in a multi-cultural environment were considered in the PIWC formation concept. It was observed that there is a new group or generation in Ghana who do not appear to find their place in the traditional way of worship.
They enjoyed teaching and worship, and seemed to thrive on mixing the Ghanaian culture with the Western traditions. This modern generation came about as a result of the dynamics of civilisation and the increased interaction of the peoples of the world through education, travel and commerce.
They are the outcome of an aggregation of many transferred cultures. This new generation does not always conform to the known traditional ways of doing things. Every generation, it is observed, has its own needs, challenges and opportunities.
The Lord throughout the ages has been using and still uses people in particular generations to meet the needs of that generation. Thus, the apostle Paul speaks of David as having served the purpose of God in his own generation (Acts 13:36). As a dynamic and growth-conscious church, it was felt to pause, reflect and review our evangelistic strategies in the light of Scripture to find out how this segment of people could effectively be reached.
The issue at stake was not whether they were right or wrong, but how to reach them in their own worldview with the same, old, unchanging Word of God, which is still the power of God unto salvation.
OUR VISION: To be an excellent pentecostal christian centre, preparing God's people for victorious living and service.
OUR MISSION: To create a culturally friendly, missions oriented ministry of the church of pentecost in accra. To build a relevant church meeting the needs of contemporary society and appealing to the present generation. To provide a healthy environment for spirit filled worship, discipleship, fellowship and focused evangelism. To build a christ-centred church, sound in biblical teachings, and full of the holy spirit.
Our vision is to become an excellent Christian Centre where people find the true meaning of life in Christ and where we teach them how to live for Him. We believe the Church is the gateway for people to experience the reality of God, so at PIWC Kokomlemle everything we do, whether in Church service, prayer meetings, evangelistic outreaches, training, encouragement and other fellowship activities, seeks to serve this purpose.
We provide a spiritual home for people with varying cultures and ethnicities. We're committed to become the kind of Church in the Bible, where there is relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, passion and action toward the unsaved, constant prayer, compassionate care for the needy and honest Christ-centred relationship. As you worship God with us we pray that you will have a sense of belonging and that you will come again and again and become part of our great family. Glad tidings await you here.
